Fragrance Discussion...What's a Dutch Oven Dessert?

Cast Iron Dutch Oven baked cinnamon rolls
Our fragrance destination on White Oak Creek in SW Missouri, Dutch Oven Dessert is cinnamon + campfire baked. The cast iron dutch oven is a simple, yet invaluable, tool for campfire cooking. It is a heavy, flat bottomed kettle with a lid, legs, and a bail wire to lift and hang. It was designed to cook complete one-pot meals on an open fire - perfect for campingSince dutch ovens are made of thick cast iron, they absorb heat, retain it, and distribute it evenly over the inside surface.

Baking Breads
Cooking in a dutch oven definitely includes baking. Breads have a common tendency to burn on the bottom, but that is usually caused by folks putting too many coals under and not enough on top. When cooking breads, rolls, and biscuits, almost all the heat should be coming from the top - place 3/4 of the coals on top of your oven.

2 tablespoons honey or
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups warm milk (100° to 110°)

large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
About 5 1/3 cups flour

1 cup raisins
1 cup walnut or pecan pieces (optional)
